Portraits can be stressful and scary. Most people do not like having their picture taken, they are self-conscious of how they look or smile…these are all normal feelings. I repeatedly hear clients thank me for the experience at the end as they tell me about anxiety they felt about having their picture taken coming into the session and how at-ease they felt during the session. I am here to make it a fun and easy experience for you and your family.
Being prepared can help alleviate stress, so let me tell you about what you can expect through the process of the portrait experience.
The process starts with your free consultation. This happens prior to setting a date, picking a location, and signing a contract. This is a casual meeting at your home or a local coffee shop to give us chance to get to know one another and decide if we are a good fit to create your perfect family portraits to be enjoyed for generations. We will spend some time to get to know each other, discuses interests and family. We will talk about your intent and desired uses of the portraits will be and how we can best capture the images to fit those needs. We will discuss possible the art piece, locations, wardrobe options, and dates and times that could help us create the family portrait you desire.
Once we have decided on a look, intent, and location, we can lock in a date and time for your session. We will sign the standard contract explaining what to expect and all the details of the session.
The Photo Session
The actual session is the fun part! We will meet at the location we decided on and I will give you a brief rundown of my plan and point out general areas I intend to use in our session. Throughout the session I will help instruct you on where and how to sit or stand for each shot and encourage the interaction needed to capture the desired look and feel.
Prints and art pieces take about 6 weeks. I will contact you when they are ready so we can schedule a delivery time.
All of my sessions come with an album and / or a printed art piece to be displayed in your home.
With these steps in place, it is my goal to make the process as easy, fun, and stress-free as possible for you and your family.
